Many of you know that I own a company called Great Pro Speakers, which teaches professional & entrepreneurs how to transform their expertise into cash. On the site, I talk a lot about how the landscape of the speaking industry is changing and how speakers HAVE to implement internet marketing into their strategy. I’ve learned many of the techniques that I use just from trial and error, but here are 5 blogs that I lean on for consistent ideas about taking my businesses to the next level.
HubSpot is the leader when it comes to the Inbound Marketing revolution. What is for sure is that they practice what they preach. When it comes to internet marketing, Hubspot is usually my first stop amongst all of the blogs. The best thing about HubSpot is that they have great breath of topics as well as great depth. I highly recommend that you check out their library of case studies and white papers.
Unbounce is a do it yourself, landing page platform. I’ve used their product for over a year now and I LOVE it. It has helped me create the landing page for people interested in becoming GBS speakers in 2 hours and it helped us create the landing page for Ujamaa Deals. It was the Unbounce blog, however, that persuaded me to give their product a try. They created the best internet marketing post of 2011 called the “Noob Guide to Online Marketing.” Most of their content talks about the importance of landing pages and how they fit into your overall marketing strategy.
Kissmetrics is a web analytics company that makes it simple to set up conversion funnels for your company. What makes them different is that they have more of an emphasis on measuring people instead of visits. Admittedly, I wasn’t a huge fan originally of the KissMetrics blog and their product. Their blog has grown on me, but I still wish the product was a little easier to use for non-techies who don’t have a ton of experience with web programming. Their blog provides a lot of insight into the latest and greatest tools of web 2.0. They are definitely giving Hubspot a run for their money as it relates to breadth of a blog.
Aaron Wall’s SEO Book is the first blog that I started reading regarding internet marketing. As the name states, the blog focuses on search engine optimization. Aaron’s blog is also a good example on how to build up a substantial membership website business as well. If you have the dough to spend, I recommend that you join their private community for a while. It is a good place to learn about SEO. This can provide to be highly valuable, especially if you work in an underdeveloped niche. If you are not feeling SEO book, then I think SEO Moz is a great alternative.
HasOffers is a web application that allows you to create your own affiliate marketing program. The company was founded and is supported by some heavy hitters in the affiliate marketing space. I like their blog a lot because many of the tips that they give are very innovative, which means much of your competition will be behind.
These are my top 5 blogs that I turn to to learn. What are some of yours? Post in the comments below.
